well, its been a year
a LONG year
[it was a big bus]
i can VIVIDLY remember my first day coming in as the only freshman in drama and not exactly being the most popular person in the room. ahem ahem. but i worked hard and put up with the obstacles [ie. being ''zero" for a considerable period of time] and i, im my opinion, proved myself. i auditioned for every show and for the most part, got a role. But not getting a role didnt stop me, i mean come on i did get the Slideshow awesomeness award haha.
But i can honestly say even though there has been a lot of drama in drama, we are a family. we are quick to defend one another and be there when were needed. they say there is no relationship like the players on a field, but were just players on the stage, no difference. Being a patriot player has been one of the most fullfilling and memorable experiences of my life. every memory made and every person met are just bricks to the foundations of our lives. It's going faster than we think and before we know it. we'll all be in different states going to different schools living completely seperate lives and we WILL miss this. i know i will. we'll miss the stupid sayings [STUPID AAAHH BITT!!] the stank feet in the 'dressing room' haha NOT. the random conversations in the classrooms and car rides. and of course all the awards and trophies. But honestly i think that the one thing we will miss the most is the familiarity of each other. how comfortable we are to just be ourselves. and we really do owe that to Co' Hill, he's the best lol. he has taught us so much and not just about acting. he may fly off the handle at times but come on, he is the only teacher that will actually listen to us and give us advice and let us vent. he shows concern and i think thats why we all show so much concern for each other. so thank you coach, for showing us what it is to be a family, even though none of us are related lol.
but this was a really long blog.
basically all im saying is that im honored to say that im a patriot player. im proud to call all of you my family.
i love you guys
wouldnt trade you for the world :)

Random thoughts and commentary...
on and to... the Patriot Players
From: a member of the audience
We live in a culture where often simple gestures such as "thank you" or "I appreciate you" goes unspoken. Often we miss our opportunities...for whatever reasons...thinking the chance will come again...assuming others "know how we feel". Julia is right. This time, this show, this "stage" of life... will come only once.
I simply wanted to say to each one of you that "makes" the Players...thank you. Thank you for being a great group of young people, and for sharing your gifts and talents with others. Kindertransport is MORE than powerful...you are not merely repeating dialogue... never forget...the "story"...was once the "all too real"...life of another.
Your individual, unique, and diverse talents...combine to make an awesome team.
It is not always about the trophy...sometimes it is the message itself...for giving a voice...
The Patriot Players represent WHS...extremely well.
Thank you so much for such a kind comment. We do make a serious effort to define all of those things that you mentioned. Be it sharing, being talented, never forgetting and taking in what we are doing.
We are glad that you enjoyed the show.
