Why bother?

Not really sure why I bother to post because it seems no one checks the blog. Anyway, for those of you who do read but just don't post, rehearsal for the Region piece will probably be right after school until 6.

I would love some feedback on something. Would you rather do a 55 min piece for the GTC competition, or would you rather do a 45 min piece for the SETC competition? The 55 will be at TA, and the 45 at Darton?

GTC Web page

Just wanted to give you guys the heads up on GTC. Here is the web address for GTC. www.georgiatheatreconference.com

It needs updating but it will contain a lot of information about fees, registration, auditions, etc. For you rising seniors that plan to audition you need to start looking for a piece. I think it is 90 sec of monologue, song, or both. The auditions are for theater programs in GA and scholarship opportunities.

Whereee ?

i know there are websites that have monologues for more modern movies... where can I find them? I know it's a risk, but I think I have an awesome idea for my second audition piece.

Attention Drama II and III

Some of you are going to have choices to make this year regarding you schedule this coming . It breaks down like this: Drama II and III (as of now) are going to be offered 5th period this year. The choice for some of you will be whether you are going to take Journalism, Annual or Drama? The numbers for the advanced drama class are already low and we really can't afford to lose any of you. So, here is what I can tell you. The GTC piece will be worked through the 5th period class, along with a possible children's theater and spring show (Savannah trip?). Only the Region One-act piece will be rehearsed outside of school. (Probably evening rehearsals, 7 pm or after, remember, I do have a daughter due in September.) Show selection will not be announced until schedule changes are complete and I know who I will have for fifth period. I know it sucks for some of you, but thats how it ended up. DO NOT POST YOUR INTENTIONS ON THE BLOG! Think about it. Its going to be a big year.

Feedback

I am looking for some feedback on the play selection for this Fall. Which show would you rather be the bigger production a) The GTC piece (IF it happens) or B) the Region Competition piece? Let me know what you think.

Misc.

Lots of ideas going through my head..

1. improv shows? the improv shows here are too much fun. the second half of the theatre majors have their show tonight and rehearsal last night was hilarious. they are entering from the back of the auditiorium with "eveybody dance now" playing and all the theatre majors are gonna dance and stuff. it should be so much fun. the shows are in such high demand and everyone attends them so we are doing a few other informal shows on west lawn. its a lot of fun when everyone is involved. its something i would love you start at home (if we could get people to come)

2. ill look for shows cause we have to read so many anyways lol and i dont have a tv so it'll give me something to do at night :)

3. have any senior project ideas? i'd love to do something with theatre but i just dont know what yet.

kristen got married!? im so happy for her..im glad everything was worked out. love you guys and miss you!

im coming home this weekend for my long weekend cause frankly i need the sleep. amount of energy needed > amount of sleep we're getting lol.

all my love,
abby
